(Now in progress. Check regularly for updates.) What was originally planned to be a renovation project is now the construction of a new Tates Creek High School to replace the existing school. The project broke ground in June of 2020 and is expected to be completed in 2.5 to 3 years. The construction includes a new 358,018 new high school building which includes a tornado shelter in the basement as well as a 9,544 sf Fieldhouse including batting cages, public toilettes, and concessions for the softball and baseball program.
-Brickwork has begun on the Area B Classroom Wing with completion expected by July 16th. The roof dry-in process has also begun and installation of metal roof panels is expected to begin this month as well.
-Bearing walls continue being installed to the roof
-Installation of the air barrier continues and brickwork for the Area B CLassroom Wing will begin in June
-Ceiling work continues in the lower levels and main levels of the basement, including HVAC ductwork, plumbing piping, sprinkler piping, and electrical piping
-Concrete work began at the Field House and the installation of topsoil on the baseball and softball fields continues. In addition, delivery has started for the special infield dirt.
